Founded in 1999, The Washington Wine Academy is the premier wine education center in the Washington DC area, currently the hottest wine market in the United States.

WWA educates more than 1,000 wine enthusiasts a month, and hosts more than 300 events a year. We were named one of the five best wine schools in the United States by Food and Wine Magazine.

Our Washington Wine Academy Education Center is a 40 seat classroom, conveniently located in Crystal City! Designed to be green (not literally but see our WWA Green Initiatives Page), our Education Center allows us to offer more courses, tastings and events than ever before!

A July 2005 Gallup poll listed wine (not beer) as the leading beverage of choice for the first time ever in the United States!
